The client required a strict billing monitoring solution for their AWS infrastructure to manage spending. They needed stable month-to-month costs and immediate detection of any drift.

Solution | Cost management automation

We implemented a resource-tagging strategy aligned with the customer's organizational structure. We deployed custom AWS Lambda functions to monitor service costs daily instead of monthly. We integrated AWS Budgets with Amazon SNS to trigger real-time cost alerts for budget thresholds and employed AWS Cost Anomaly Detection to identify irregular spending patterns. We defined Cost Explorer dashboards and generated custom reports to provide clear visibility into spending by project, environment, and team. We reduced expenses by applying Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, rightsizing compute resources, and leveraging Amazon EC2 Spot Instances where appropriate.
